There is no better way to start off
a Monday than with an assortment of delicious food. My favorite topic this week
had to be the food projects we presented. It was very interesting hearing about
everyone’s individual ethnicities and family backgrounds. I liked how some
people made recipe’s that are traditions in their household like the chocolate
chip cookies and the mac and cheese, two of my favorites! Besides hearing about
everyone’s journey’s through this project and what they learned, I enjoyed my
personal experience in the kitchen just as much. Having this opportunity to go
home and bake with my mom was a special memory I now have, that I wouldn’t if
we did not get assigned this project. I learned a lot from the experience, especially getting to try out this
delicious scone recipe which was new to me. We turned on the country music and got baking. Along the way my mom told me stories about when
she used to bake with her mom as a little girl so it made the experience just that
more sentimental. I am happy she got to carry this tradition down to me, as I hope
to do the same with my kids in the future. I have always loved to bake so
learning this new recipe was very exciting to me. I never would have pictured
myself grocery shopping and pulling out my mixing bowls for a college English
project, but the creativity this project brought out was very enlightening. Although
I was stressed at the beginning on how I was going to find a recipe, bake it, and
write a paper on my experience, it all came together much easier than I thought
once I got going!
Olivia, the project was interesting. It is amazing how we all come together over food.
ReplyDeleteOlivia, that is so amazing that you got to have such special time with your mother.
