This week in class we discussed story telling which, made me remember some of the amazing stories my nonnie and grandpa would tell me when I saw them. I liked both of there stories, but nonnie's were the best to listen to. She would talk about how her grandmother stole a sailboat in Italy so she could sail to America. I thought that was so cool, even though it is the wrong thing to do. My grandpa is part Italian put he is mainly Dutch, and he would talk about how his grandfather was born in raised in The Hague, which is known as the most peaceful place on Earth, and just happens to be my last name. My Grandpa would always talk about how hard it was for his grandpa to save up the money to get to America, but thankfully he did and he became a reporter. I still hear some of Grandpa's stories today, but unfortunately I can't listen to anymore of nonnie's stories because she passed away four months ago. It was really tough knowing I was never going to be able to see her again, but I know that she is with her parents and grandparents telling them about her life stories. I will always love you Nonnie rest in peace.

  1. I loved what you shared with us. It's always nice having a family member tell us stories maybe about their life or others.
