The one day I was in class this week, week tased about food and how it has an impact on our everyday lives. In my family, our lives revolve around food. I grew up in a huge Italian family where we have Sunday dinner every week. My aunts, uncles and cousins got to my grandparents house to have dinner together. Before I lived at college I looked forward to Sunday every week because it was a unique day where I could catch up on my family members lives. At the same time we would all gather to share a delicious dinner usually consists of pasta, fish and always salad.
Other than Sunday my parents would make dinner for me and my sister every night. My sister and I were expected to sit down with my mother and father and eat dinner. No phones, no television, just conversation. We would talk about our day at school and/or work.
My family made food an important factor in my life because of the communication we have during dinner. As a result, food has a special place in my life and I love sharing moments with my family while stuffing my face with something delicious.
That is so nice! I love when my family has big dinners. One of the top reasons I commute to college is because I do not want to miss out on my nightly dinners with my big family.
