This week when reading Braiding Sweetgrass the chapter that I enjoyed most was “The three sisters”. The three sisters which is squash, corn and beans all help each other grow to their fullest potential. The beans give nitrogen to the plants, than the corn gives a place for the beans to grow and the squash gives vitamin that the corn and the beans need. All of the sisters work together to grow, just like a lot of other plants in the environment. The sister show that plants grow better working together and growing off of each other. It is also said that corn, bean and squash feed the land and people and tells us how to live. It shows that humans can also help plants grow and plants can also help us grow.
