Coming into the new semester I was hesitant about how I would fell about Eng 102. After the first week in class I realized that the topics we are going to cover will actually interest me. Coming from an Agricultural background I felt more than comfortable reading and comprehending the our first narrative and understand what we've talked about so far. The idea that common people don't view the land the same as say a farmer or the native Americans is 100% true, and I can confidently say that because I've learned a lot about how nature is important to different types of people and I have also been behind the controls of the machines that take that very nature away from the people.
Having the experience's that I've had has already helped me to understand what the focus of this course will be about and i'm looking forward to learning more about the topic.
I felt the same way at the beginning of the class, too. I thought it would be all about writing mechanics and just generally boring topics, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn about what we'd be discussing this semester. I don't have an agricultural background like you, but I do have a deep appreciation for nature, so I'm excited to work more on this subject.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more either, the theme of this class is excellent! I'm sure with your background Devin this will really make for an interesting semester. I have some pretty deep rooted feelings toward nature and food myself so I'm excited to have this particular vein to write. Sometimes just getting started or choosing a topic to write yourself can really be challenging.
ReplyDeleteAs someone with an agricultural background like you I'm sure you have a good relationship with nature and realize just how important and fragile our environment is. I agree with you in that the theme of this class is very interesting and I hope it will be a pretty eye opening class.
ReplyDeleteDear Devin,
ReplyDeleteMy good friend I am very excited to be collaborating with you this semester. Due to your agriculture background, I am positive you will have plenty to share in class. This will allow us all to achieve that closer connection and to discover the relationship between man and land first hand. I cannot wait to discuss further course details with you in the future. "Ta-ta!"
Signed your dearest friend,
Mr Corey Costa
I felt the same way coming into the class, I had the same teacher prior but I was nervous about the content as well. It does seem like all the topics will be interesting. I'm glad to hear having that background helped you feel comfortable with the class so far. I do look forward to this class as the semester progresses.
