Listening to all the stories in class it made me realize so much. After having the discussion in class it had me thinking of how beautiful it can be for someone to have a relationship with nature. For example it can relive stress, help people make friends, make some memories or lessons. In class throughout the stories being told , it had me thinking of the many more connections I have with nature and the world and the more connections I can make. I liked listening to the stories because it made the class open up more to each other and gave people a different point of view of nature. I really liked this idea for class work and as an essay and I would love to do it again.
This blog represents the work of my English 102 course at Bridgewater State University. The blog posts reflect not only the readings, but also the students' reflection and critique of the ideas presented. We will discuss and write about the environmental issues surrounding the use of pesticides, as well as the consequences of our current agricultural practices and policies and the moral, ethical, social, and economical implications of these practices.

Our connections with nature
I never realized the connections and lessons I had with nature till I had to write this essay and talk about it in class. My essay was based on how from the apartments to houses I've lived in it showed me so much. Within my essay I talked about how when I lived in the Bronx, New York I wasn't let out as much because my neighborhood wasn't so great. Then when I moved to Lawrence I had more freedom to go outside and play like a regular kid. I interacted with nature more and I started planting flowers with my mom and collecting rocks. Lastly when I moved to florida it made me realize how much I love the change of seasons and how beautiful and amazing different types of weathers it can be outside. In Florida to me it will always be a warm summer day regardless if it is raining or in the middle of January. I was so happy to come back to Massachusetts to my different change of seasons and different clothes to wear for each season.

I feel the same about the change of seasons. Even though I do not really enjoy the cold, I enjoy watching the seasons change over time. I would not like living in Florida because you would lose the feeling you get when you know summer is approaching and you would lose the feeling of a snow day. I always love watching the snow come down and excitedly checking the news over and over wondering if school is going to get cancelled.
ReplyDeletei also can relate to the joy of watching the seasons change, its something I've always enjoyed about New England. Despite our harsh winters I've always liked that we can actually experience all four seasons fully. Especially around christmas time, I've always loved staring out my window and watching the snow as it falls.
ReplyDeleteI totally relate when you talk about the seasons change. New England is known for our seasons and how different they are from other places in the country. Especially here, you get to see different seasons and experience the snow fall, the hot sun, etc. New England's seasons are the best.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this as well, because I was born in born in new York as well. I was not allowed to really go outside and enjoy playing Outside. After two years I ended up moving to Lawrence as well, and got the opportunity to go play outside due to the safer environment.
ReplyDeleteI also used to collect rocks and reading that made me relive those experiences all over again! I used to go to the beach with my mom all of the time looking for white rocks to collect to bring home. We kept them in a bucket by our front door and overtime someone came to visit we would have them sign a rock and we could then look back and see all of the friends and family that had visited that year. I really liked that tradition because it was just something I found to be really special.
ReplyDeleteI can as well relate to the beauty in each season because each one is so unique and different, each holding both positives and negatives. I'd say New England is definitely the best place to experience all of them!
