On Wednesday, the weather was beautiful. It was sunny and almost 70 degrees. To celebrate the
wonderful, but unusual weather for Massachusetts in February, I went outside on the trampoline and
played basketball with my 11 year old sister, Michaela. Michaela has been begging for a while to
play with her outside. While outside jumping on the trampoline and playing one-on-one with
Michaela, I felt great being with nature and Earth. To be honest, as a child I could not stand going to
play outside. I thought of nature and the outdoors. I did not want to get dirty or play in the dirt. I'm
still not ready to play in the dirt, but now I love being outside, walking in my backyard and
appreciating the land I live on. This may sound harsh but, I hate winter, I hate the cold, and I hate
the snow. My birthday is in August, so nature I am drawn to the warmer weather. The mild
temperatures this week brought me so much happiness, that I literally cannot wait for spring to
come!
Being outside on Wednesday made think about my future and the future of Earth's life. My
hometown of Berkley is full of trees and woods. Which is what I love most about my town
and why I plan on living in Berkley to raise my family. I hope one day, when I have my own family,
that my children will love to be outside, love nature and Earth. But I also wish that future generations
around the world will be the ones to change how see and treat nature and Earth.
