Blog Post #4
This week we watched a documentary
about the disappearance of Aral Sea and overuse of the Colorado river which could lead to it to the same fate as the Aral Sea. Both these situations
caused by us as humans. It really caught my attention because I just find it crazy
how destructive we are to nature and how we can just look away
from the situation like nothing happened or it never existed in the first place. All
animals that once called it home for hundreds of thousands of years gone in a matter of
decades for our own self gain and we're doing it again to the Colorado river. It’s
the same situation, just thousands of miles away. About 70% of the water from
the Colorado river is used for agriculture and this is a major factor as to why
the river is and has dwindled in size. With the technology that we have today we can easily
help by giving nature a little hand or a tiny boast to help aid in the revival of the areas that we
took away from it.
