The Truth Behind the Food Industry

In my perspective, all the books that we read in class are correlated because they focus on the same idea that we are disrupting the environment. In the book called Deeply rooted, Hamilton provides the history of modern agriculture. In the book, the author demonstrates a lot of evidence and concerns about agribusiness and the use of chemicals.
According to Hamilton,  “We have mathematized food production,”... “Agriculture doesn’t really need people.” Within the past few decades, tremendous quantities of chemicals have been introduced into the cultivation and processing of food and use of chemicals is increasing day by day in the food industry.
Another thing that I learned after reading, cows are treated like milk-producing machines and are genetically manipulated and they are pumped full of antibiotics and hormones in order to produce more milk so they can sell it at a cheaper price.
We should be aware of this problem because if we continuing to consume modified milk, it can increase our chances of developing heart disease, or cancer.
We don't realize that for a cow to produce milk she must be pregnant, however, all female are separated from their mothers,  but if is a male they raise them just to be slaughtered, in order to satisfy humans consumption.
