I am no scientist, but I do believe the world is the way it is for a reason. Bugs, as annoying as they can be, have a purpose of being here. We cannot try to alter nature. We need to focus more on helping nature, rather than changing it. It reminds me of the bee situation we have going on today. Everyone always complains about bees. But, now that there are less and less on them on earth each day we are now deciding to take action and care about them.
This is a problem. We wait and wait until it is almost too late and one day, there is going to be a day where it is too late. And that thought scares me, and I hope it scares everyone else a little too.
There is something we can do about it though, which is educate ourselves. I started thinking this week, why is this the first time I am learning about this? In high school, we rarely covered enviormental science unless you took it as a specific class, which you only had to the option for 11th and 12th grade, which are where your schedule is most packed anyways. We do not prioritize this type of science at the moment because we are more focused on things like chemistry, hence why new and more chemicals are being found in humans everyday and less care for the world we are living in.
All science is important and amazing, but I just wish we learned more about this type of science related topics sooner, since it is something that is so important right now in this day in age. We need to start talking about things like this, because ignoring it will not just magically make it go away. I am happy that I am in a class were we discuss these issues.
I agree that people wait too long to do anything about the problems they created. It seems like the only time people want to do anything to fix the problems they’ve created is when it starts to directly affect them as well.
